Going Under

Going Under- littlegem trapped in a glass ball trying to break free

I’m going under
Drowning in you
I’m falling forever
I’ve got to break through
I’m going under

Evanescence – Going Under

Last weekend PurpleSole and I found ourselves with some child free time so thought we would take some Halloween photos. I didn’t want to take gory blood and guts photos as that isn’t my thing, although one of the photos does involve a little fake blood. The idea behind this one was it was meant to be a nod to David Bowie’s character Jareth in Labyrinth. The scene where Sarah is trapped inside the crystal ball trying to break out. Labyrinth is one of my favourite movies and I don’t think we have even remotely done it justice. So we scrapped that idea.

After looking through the photos we had taken PS noticed that they kind of follow a story if you put them together. So this is the first of a three part photo story, that PS thought went nicely with some Evanescence song lyrics.

  1. I haven’t seen the film gem but I can’t believe you don’t do it justice. This is everything: clever, sexy and beautiful. missy πŸ™‚

  2. This is clever, artistic, ripe for storytelling and just all-round fabulous! You two are a force to be reckoned with when it comes to photography x

  3. I dig Amy Lee’s vocals, so I think the lyrical accompaniment is perfect.

And while I can see where the inspiration came from, I can also see that this photo is very much its own. I look forward to seeing how the tale unfolds.

(As for the nakedness, I am personally a huge fan of NOT-naked sexy photos. So I doubly love this picture because it conveys so much mystery and allure, fully clothed. πŸ™‚ )

    1. Wow thank you! She has got an amazing voice, PS played some of her music after I had finished this post so got to enjoy dancing around whilst cooking dinner!

  4. I love the film Labyrinth and even more so, David Bowie! This has a very intriguing vibe to it, and is very smart! I am looking forward to the other pictures in the series!

  5. A favourite scene from a favourite film, excited to see the triptych…great edit both of you, the world certainly isn’t falling down here!

  6. WOW, this is so very creative! Love the dark feeling of this! Very Halloween-y.
I can’t wait to start using my glass ball when our studio is ready. I have so many ideas, but just need the room to start playing around with those.

  7. This. Is. Glorious. I love everything about this image aesthetically, but most especially the way it tells a fantasy story and also nods to your D/s relationship. Pure magic.
