Zips and Self Reflection

Zips and Self Reflection- littlegem in a front zip lingerie set standing in front as a river and castle ruins

I have to be honest with you, I only like 90% of this photo. Yes PurpleSole, 90%. The scenery looks great, the ripple in the river and the light emphasising the detail of the brick on the castle ruins. But when I look at the image all I can see is my stomach. And I don’t like it.

A few weeks back I purchased this new lingerie set. I loved the zips and the idea of the access they could grant PS. When trying it on I thought it would be a great outfit for one of our role plays. But I wasn’t completely certain, so it sat in its bag untouched.

PS then suggested I bring it with us when we went on an afternoon trip, the possibility of some photos he had in mind. It got packed up with the rest of our stuff and off we went. When it came to actually putting the lingerie on I know my attitude changed. The image I had in my head wouldn’t match the photos taken.

We have a rule when taking photos, I don’t get to see them until we have finished. This is so I don’t get upset one photo in and not continue. It is a really good rule for me and has forced me to let PS take full control of the situation. Having me trying to micro manage the photo shoot from in front of the lens is not fun.

It took a few shots for me to put this thought aside in my head. To try and remember the actual resulting photo is not important, it is having an enjoyable experience for us both. That is why I am posting this image. I might not like 10% of it that I actually occupy, apart from the zips.  But it reminds me of the lovely afternoon we had in the sun.

  1. Ummm… you look beautiful… all of you. Even your belly. I know how you feel because I have the same insecurity. Anyhoo, not only are you naturally beautiful but PurpleSole has a way of capturing you that always leaves me stunned and swooned lol

  2. Your body shows the world you have brought life into the world. Every line every wobble shows how you nurtured and protected your baby inside you close to your heart. Be proud of your tiger lines, they show the world how fiercely you will protect those children. Hold yourself proudly and shout out my body is proof I am a warrior for I will fight to the death to protect my young, I bear the scars to prove I fought to bring them safely into the world.

Go back and look at this image Gem. You stand there, beautiful and lovely, real and womanly. Embrace that the way PS embraces you. Trust that as unconditional as your love is for your children your body is the amazing vessel that brought them into being and it too deserves your unconditional love ❤️

  3. That is a great outfit and I really like how that deal has allowed you to relax into the process and moment and take away the opportunity for one thing to stop you enjoying it. I know when I take my self portraits that I just power past those images that make me uncomfortable and for me the key is to take plenty in the hope that I will end up with at least one. That allows me to forgive myself all the ones I don’t like

    1. That’s a really good process, we take a fair few usually aswell. Although the amount has reduced overtime as PS is becoming happier with his developing photography skills.

  4. Exactly what TJ said. You are beautiful and the pictures you and PurpleSole produce are stunning 🙂

  5. I keep on scrolling back to the image, and all I see is a beautiful and sexy woman. I do understand that we all have parts of our body we don’t like, but seriously, you look lovely. And, I love the fun you two have on your outings!

  6. I think you look great in that! An excellent choice and the zips accentuate the desire to see what goodies lie underneath!

  7. Gorgeous indeed! I echo all the others! Our body image seldom matches the vision we have in our heads. We usually can’t measure up to that impossible dream. But honestly we are all too hard on ourselves. You are a beautiful woman!!

  8. I think the scenery is beautiful, but it pales into insignificance when compared to how incredible you look in that sexy lingerie. You really do look perfect!

  9. This is the image of a real beautiful woman. Not touched up.
Not with an arched back to minimize tummies.
    But caught au natural.
    Not artificially enhanced.
    Naturally you.
    And beautiful.
It’s a real body caught in an unguarded moment.
Thank you for being brave enough to post something you don’t like 100%.

  10. If you are looking for a complimentary….you have gone! WHAT STOMACH??!! Y look fabulous! Honestly! I wish my figure was half as great!
    Keep the photos coming!!!
